In Turkey, manufacturers, importers and downstream users of chemicals (including substances greater 1 TPA as such or in mixtures) have to comply with KKDIK regulation. This complex legislation has been in force in Turkey since 2017 and imposes several obligations to chemical companies and those dealing with chemicals including producers of articles being the main processes Registration, Authorisation, Evaluation and Restriction of chemicals. According to KKDIK, registration it’s significant to understand that there are late pre-registration obligations even after 31.12.2020 and a registration dossier which is a living document that may need to be updated to allow companies to continue legally on the market. 31.12.2023 is the deadline for KKDIK registration obligations.
After this date companies will still have to register new chemical substances and those that cross for the first time 1 ton/year including the newcomers to the market.
