KKDİK Compliance Obligations
Your obligations under KKDİK (Turkish REACH) depend on the composition and amount of chemicals involved. Special requirements apply to Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), which have stringent compliance criteria.
Choose the Category that Best Fits Your Business
1. I am a Manufacturer of Substances, Mixtures, or Articles in Turkey
You must comply with KKDİK if:
- Substances alone or in mixtures total ≥1 tonne per year.
- For articles, compliance is required if:
- The individual substances within the articles total ≥1 tonne per year.
- The substances are intended to be released under normal or foreseeable conditions of use.

2. I am an Importer of Substances, Mixtures, or Articles into Turkey
You must comply with KKDİK if:
- Substances alone or in mixtures total ≥1 tonne per year.
- For articles, compliance is required if:
- The individual substances within the articles total ≥1 tonne per year.
- The substances are intended to be released under normal or foreseeable conditions of use.

3. I am a Downstream Distributor of Substances, Mixtures, or Articles in Turkey
Your obligations include:
- Communicating use, hazards, and risk exposure data within your supply chain using compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Maintaining records: Keep a database of all available KKDİK compliance information for at least 10 years after distributing a substance or mixture.

4. I Use Substances and Mixtures for My Own Industrial Purposes
While you are not obligated to register under KKDİK, you can:
- Join the Substance Information Exchange Forum (SIEF) to share or request KKDİK compliance data and studies with other registrants.

Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)
Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) require special attention under KKDİK. Obligations include:
For Substances in Articles:
- If the substance totals ≥1 tonne per year and is intended to be released, Registration is required.
For Articles Containing SVHC Substances:
- If the article contains substances classified as:
- CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, Reproductive Toxicity) Category 1 & 2.
- PBT (Persistent, Bioaccumulative, Toxic).
- vPvB (Very Persistent, Very Bioaccumulative).
- Endocrine Disruptors.
- If the concentration of SVHC substances is >0.1% (by weight) and the total amount manufactured or imported exceeds 1 tonne per year, you must:
- Notify the Chemical Registration System (KKS).
- Inform customers and consumers about the presence and safe use of these substances.
